Resurfacing of Roads Batch 2
The
Xewkija Local Council started a new project of resurfacing with hot
asphalt at Triq Gharus, Triq Indri Borg and Triq Arc. Grech. The
contractor commenced the works in August 2011. |

Educational and Crafts Courses 2011
The Xewkija Local Council organized several courses during the summer.
Courses about English, German, French, Maltese, Maths, Story Telling,
Sugar Crafts, Embroidery, Lace, First Aid, and Art Attack were
organized.

ANIMAL SHOW 2011
On
the 29th of August our village celebrates the feast of the Beheading of
St John The Baptist. For the fourth consecutive year the Xewkija Local
Council with the collaboration of Local Committees and the Archpriest
organized several activities.

asphalt at Triq Kraba, Trejqet Kraba, Triq is-Salib, Triq Sant’Indrija
and Triq San Duminku. The contractor commenced the works in February
2011.

Fiori D’Argenta 2011
The
Xewkija Local Council presented Fiori D’Argenta, a festival of
culture, history, drama and traditions, on Friday 10th, Saturday 11th
and Sunday 12th June 2011. |

Puttinu Cares
An activity was held at Xewkija in aid for Puttinu Cares. A horse
defile and blessing was held on the 8th of May 2011. |

Good Friday Activity
On Wednesday 20th April an activity was held
at Gnien Ta’ Blankas, ix-Xewkija. The main activity was a representation
of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ in original surroundings as this
olive garden can offer. |

8 Strings in Harmony
The
Xewkija Local Council presented 8 Strings in Harmonay, a Violin and
Cello Recital with the participation of the DUO ARCADIA DI ROMA on the 7th
of April 2011.

Mgarr ix-Xini Regional
Park
The Project Description Statement for the proposed Mgarr Ix-Xini
Regional Park is a response to a request by Sannat Local Council and
Xewkija Local Council to develop a joint initiative aimed at protecting,
safeguarding, sustaining and enhancing the
ecosensitive, geocultural landscapes of Mgarr Ix-Xini valley.
