XEWKIJA LOCAL COUNCIL - GOZO

CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES 2009

During Christmas time the Xewkija Local Council organizes activities for the elderly and also for children. St John The Baptist Square and Church Street are also decorated with Chrismtmas decorative lights including the crib.

The Council organized an outing for the elderly residents. We visited various cribs in other localities in Gozo. A lunch and a bingo (tombla) were organized at the Arka Foundation Hall in Ghajnsielem. The Mayor Dr Monica Vella presented gifts to all those that attended for this social event.

Another activity that was organized by the Council during Christmas time was the party for children. For this party over seventy children attended. The kids had entertainment and played games. The entertainment also included a magician's show, bouncing castle and face painting. At the end of the party Father Christmas gave gifts to all the children.
